We mapped merchant identity, hosting, payment processing, and shipping behaviour by jurisdiction, then delivered the findings as structured evidence for counsel to act on. The work supported the New York City Law Department and a coalition of 25 state attorneys general.

Mercury Labs was founded by Mahmood Ahmed. Mercury Labs is independent and small on purpose. Every engagement is run by the people writing the code, so the person who answers your first email is the one who answers your last.

The work spans commerce, compliance, and operations because those are systems we have run ourselves, not only built for other people.

Product builds generally start around a full marketing site or a single app. Monitoring engagements start with a three-month pilot. We avoid small reactive retainers because they produce the ticket-queue relationship we are designed to replace.

A marketing site or landing page usually takes 3–5 weeks. A Shopify app, iOS app, or monitoring system is generally 8–14 weeks depending on scope. Timing is estimated during discovery and fixed before work begins.

Yes. We are based in Calgary and work with clients across Canada and the United States. Delivery is remote, with weekly calls and a staging environment you can review without asking.

It watches online storefronts on a schedule and records what changes: whether a store is live, what it sells, whether it verifies age, where it ships, and which payment and fulfilment providers sit behind it. Records are timestamped and retained so patterns can be demonstrated over time.

Yes—including partner setup, Checkout Extensibility, App Bridge, billing configuration, and the review submission. We have taken an app through that process and it is live today.

Deployment and rollout, custom integrations, dashboards and reporting, automated workflows, and ongoing administration. This is an active practice serving operational teams today.
